40 year-old Pavol Mihalik started ice hockey in Topolcany, his hometown when he was 6 years old. He made his debut in the men's team of Topolcany when he was 17 years old - he played in his hometown team in first league, then signed to Banská Bystrica and he was given the best defenseman in the league award in the 1998/99 season. After that he signed to Extraliga with Slovan Bratislava where he won two Slovak championship titles, then he played for Zilina and Skalica.

From 2003 he played abroad, he had been in the English and French championship, in the former he won a championship and a cup with the Coventry Blaze. In his last three seasons in the French league he was a youth team coach besides a player and now he is the head coach of Limoges men's team. He is living in France with his family and he is getting his coaching and sport management degree.
